Eddy Merckx - The Eighty years of a Legend

The Ghisallo Cycling Museum celebrates the strongest cyclist of all time with an exhibition retracing his extraordinary career.

From 1966 to 1976, Merckx conquered 5 Tours de France, 5 Giri d’Italia, 5 Liège-Bastogne-Liège, 7 Milan-Sanremo, 3 Paris-Roubaix, 3 World Championships, 2 Tours of Flanders and 2 Giro di Lombardia, the Vuelta a España, and an hour record, achieving legendary feats such as the Giro-Tour double in three seasons.

Through objects, images, films, and testimonies, the exhibition recounts his glorious victories and the impact he had on cycling and world sport. In his 80 years, Eddy has given us 525 gifts and more: beyond the victories, there’s his courage and talent, an example to us all!

The initiative is curated by the Madonna del Ghisallo Cycling Museum Foundation, in collaboration with Faema, which celebrates its eightieth anniversary this year and is now part of the Cimbali Group and MUMAC, the group’s company museum, has been supporting the Ghisallo Cycling Museum for ten years, in a shared narrative of history and passion.

The exhibition is a collective gift to the great Eddy Merckx, with the participation of many friends led by the Molteni Foundation!
